Weapons Cleaning Fluid
Weapons Cleaning Fluid
P/N: WC030PPM NSN: 6850-01-473-2706
ABC WC (Weapons Cleaner) is a
non-toxic, heavy duty product for the removal of
hydrocarbons and residues from weapons and other
metal surfaces. ABC WC was developed to eliminate
concerns associated with health safety, disposal,
and/or transportation of liquid hydrocarbon wastes
found in common solvent cleaning fluids.
PURPOSE:
WC is a safe, heavy duty
water-based bio-remediating cleaner/degreaser that
will give superior results while reducing or
eliminating waste disposal problems caused by the
use of ordinary solvent cleaners. Intended for use
in cleaning weapons where hydrocarbons and residues
are found. WC provides the best and most practical
protection available for rapid cleaning without the
dangers of solvent based cleaners while safeguarding
health, assuring continuous utility and avoiding
additional future costs and liabilities.
THE BENEFITS OF USING ABC WC ARE:
-
Superior degreasing
capabilities.
- Quick breakdown,
encapsulation, and removal of oily wastes and
propellant residues.
- Bioremediation action begins
immediately and continues at an
accelerated rate.
- Microbes transform wastes
into harmless by-products and then function to
clean any previously existing contamination.
- Breaks the liquid waste
liability trail with no need for off-site
disposal of the cleaning fluid.
- Non-hazardous, non-toxic,
non-flammable and contains no butyls, caustics,
acids, or phosphates.
- It is non-pathogenic,
fumeless, and gentle to the skin.
- WC will not cause flash
rusting.
- Contains no ozone depleting
substances.
- Aquatic toxicity test results
available on request.
- Has South Coast AQMD
(California) approval

WEAPONS CLEANING
Actual cleaning of a weapon,
regardless of size is dependent on making the
contaminate available to the cleaner. As obvious as
that may sound the reality is that in many cases the
cleaning is not done or is incomplete for exactly
that reason. An entire weapon or even a part thereof
cannot be placed in a vat of cleaner and be expected
to completely penetrate all fissures with the same
effectiveness as it would reach an exposed surface.
Also as the surfaces of the contamination is broken
down the concentration of the cleaner at the depths
of its penetration is compromised by the loosened
contaminate itself. Therefore agitation, scrubbing
or brushing with a cloth or bristle brush may be
required to remove the loosened contaminate and
allow the concentrated cleaner to efficiently reach
the deeper levels of the solids.
The deeper solids in the buildup
will have been repeatedly baked onto the surface by
the subsequent firing of the weapon and will be
harder to remove even when reached by the cleaner.
These hard baked solids may require a more
specialized cleaning procedure. Hand scrubbing or
brushing, as described in the previous paragraph,
may be needed.CHEMISTRY
As the microbial population is
presented with any new contaminates, individual
enzymatic changes develop within the microbes
present so that the microbe is continuously
acclimating itself to the contaminates present. As
these enzymatic systems develop, the cleaning
efficiency increases exponentially, and newly more
efficient enzyme levels in the cleaning fluid
increases.The system is
truly remarkable. Initially the cleaning fluid
contains a patented combination of cleaning
chemicals that support added microbes proven capable
of degrading the materials to be cleaned. As the
debris is cleaned from the surfaces it acts as
nourishment for the microbial population which
consumes it with the final by-products being carbon
dioxide and water. As the food source changes the
microbes produce enzymes capable of degrading and
utilizing the new food source.
The microbes, supported by the
cleaning chemicals, develop enzyme systems that are
capable of breaking down food sources in their
environment whether those food sources are hazardous
or not. If only a small number of microbes survive
the first onslaught of a toxic contaminant, they are
the ones that have the most resistance to, or most
effective enzyme systems to destroy the hazardous
substance. These microbes will then multiply
exponentially and soon produce extremely effective
contaminant degrading enzymes which are not only
effective in preparing the food for the microbes but
also are effective in cleaning the food
(contaminant) from surfaces to make it more readily
available to the microbes.ALL INGREDIENTS ARE COMPLETELY
